Hamilton Relay is pleased to recognize Janette Lancaster as the 2010 Deaf Community Leader for the State of Idaho.

Janette is a dedicated advocate for individuals who are deaf in the state of Idaho. She is an active member of the Idaho Association of the Deaf (IAD) and has served as past president, vice president and area representative. Currently, Janette serves on the IAD board and is their secretary.

Janette has been involved with a host of organizations including the Living Independent Network Corp. (LINC) for nine years; State of Independent Living Council (SILC) for six years; State Vocation Rehabilitation Council for six years; ADA Task Force for twelve years; and Comprehensive Advocacy (Co-AD) for six years. Through her involvement with these organizations, Janette's leadership skills were apparent through her service as chairman of LINC and SILC, and through chairing various committees involved with the ADA Task Force and Co-AD.

Janette is highly regarded and has been described as a silent advocate for individuals who are deaf – always helping without hesitation and always giving her best to the task at hand. Janette's leadership and commitment in serving individuals who are deaf in the state of Idaho is commendable and we congratulate her for her many accomplishments.
