June, 08 2011

Hamilton Relay, telecommunications relay service provider for the State of Massachusetts, has awarded a $500 college scholarship to Kara Mongell, a student of North Andover High School from North Andover, Massachusetts.

The Hamilton Relay Scholarship opportunity is offered to high school seniors who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or have difficulty speaking. A recipient is selected within each of the states where Hamilton is the contracted relay service provider and is one of several ways the company gives back to the communities they serve.

"Hamilton takes pride in promoting education and outstanding leadership across the country," said Massachusetts Community Relations Manager, Moira Hennessey. "We are excited to have the opportunity to contribute to furthering Kara's education and wish her success in reaching her personal and professional goals."

Kara was awarded the $500 Hamilton Scholarship after completing an application and writing an essay under the topic of communication technology. Kara plans to continue her education this fall at a college of her choice to study in the area of 3-D Animation with a possible dual degree in Anthropology/Sociology.
