June, 08 2011

Hamilton Relay, a telecommunications relay service provider for the State of California, has awarded a $500 college scholarship to Aimee Fischer, a student of River Valley Charter School in Lakeside, California.

The Hamilton Relay Scholarship opportunity is offered to high school seniors who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or have difficulty speaking. A recipient is selected within each of the states where Hamilton is a contracted relay service provider and is one of several ways the company gives back to the communities they serve.

"Hamilton takes pride in promoting education and outstanding leadership across the country," said Paul Stuessy, California Outreach Coordinator for Hamilton Relay. "We are excited to have the opportunity to contribute to furthering Aimee's education and wish her success in reaching her personal and professional goals."

Aimee was awarded the $500 Hamilton Relay Scholarship after completing an application and writing an essay under the topic of communication technology. Aimee plans to continue her education this fall at the California State University San Marcos to study in the area of Criminology.
