Hamilton Relay is pleased to recognize William H. Bitner as the 2010 Deaf Community Leader for the State of Wyoming.

William's commitment to serving the Deaf Community is evident through his efforts in advocating and supporting various activities and organizations in Wyoming.

He is one of the founding members of the Deaf Association of Wyoming (DAW), which began in 1977. Over the years, William has served in many roles including president, treasurer and board member for DAW. He was also a leader and founder of the Cheyenne Chapter of the Deaf Association of Wyoming, and is a member of the Sunrise Lions Club.

William is active in and has been instrumental in heading up the Wyoming Deaf Camping Group. This past year, his leadership skills were instrumental in the planning of a successful regional camping event which included neighboring states; offering individuals who are deaf a fun and enjoyable opportunity to meet and share experiences with others.

Individuals who know and have worked with William refer to him as being an honorable and honest person, pleasant to work with, and humble to a point. His commitment and willingness to improve the lives of others is exemplary and we congratulate William on his many achievements in the state of Wyoming.
